Prepare for your
healthcare interview.
Practical guidance for ACP and other healthcare candidates. This guide is free; you do not need to buy document or visa support to use it.
Prepare a clear introduction
Practise a brief introduction: your current role, qualification and registration, relevant experience, and why this opportunity interests you. Use accurate examples from your own work and be clear about your responsibilities.
Keep an example ready for teamwork, communication, feedback and professional development. Explain the situation, your role, what you did and what you learned. Do not share patient identifiers or confidential employer information.
Professional presentation and online setup
- Choose clean, professional clothing appropriate to the interview; confirm any employer-specific expectations with TW.
- Check the confirmed date, time zone, interview link and the name of your contact.
- Test your camera, microphone and connection. Charge your device and keep a contact method available if the connection fails.
- Use a quiet space with light in front of you, a simple background and the camera at eye level.
- Keep your CV and a few notes nearby. Silence notifications and join at the agreed time.
Explain your approach to a clinical scenario
Listen carefully, clarify the information you need, and explain how you would organise your assessment, priorities, communication and reassessment. State the limits of your role and when you would seek senior support.
Explain your reasoning using your actual training, professional scope and applicable protocols. Be honest when you do not know something. This guide is interview communication practice, not a clinical treatment protocol or an assessment answer key.
